Large Burn on Granite-Effect Worktop Repaired in Manchester
A small burn grew to the size of a tennis ball once I cleared it out. The pattern had 3 or 4 colours, so I painted it back in like a piece of art.

The damage
This burn looked small at first, but as I removed the debris and loose material it grew to the size of a tennis ball. The worktop is a dark grey granite-effect laminate with a very detailed pattern, and I knew straight away it would take time.
How I repaired it
I cut out the damaged area, took a little depth out for the filler to bond, then filled, sanded flat and primed. The pattern has 3 or 4 different colours, so I matched each one before starting, then airbrushed the base and painted the detail in by hand, like a piece of art.
When I'm working on detail like this, time runs away with me. I worked through without a lunch break, and before I knew it I'd been there most of the day. I finished with a lacquer seal, buffed smooth to feel like the rest of the top.
The result
The burn has gone into the pattern. The video of this repair went viral, with around 3 million views across my socials.
Aftercare is simple: use a chopping board and trivets, clean with soapy water and a soft microfibre cloth, nothing acidic, and never scour the repaired area. Light use after an hour, normal use the next day.

★★★★★
“Fantastic service. Jason is very polite, punctual, talented, and works very hard. He is easy to talk with, explains his process, keeps you up to date, and seems to not need to eat lunch. I can't recall him taking a break during the entire time he was here. He clearly has obtained a very high level of skill in repairing worktops and is priced very competitively. I don't think you will be able to find a better overall service in Manchester.”
