Chipped Worktop Edge Repaired in St Helens
Something heavy dropped on the rounded front edge of Emma's worktop. I filled it, reshaped the edge and matched the stone pattern.

The damage
Emma dropped something heavy on her grey stone-effect laminate worktop and took a chip out of the rounded front edge, next to the hob. She thought she'd have to replace the whole worktop.
How I repaired it
With a chip, what you see is what you get, so I removed the loose debris and filled it with Plasgel rather than filler. It's a glue with an activator, much more hard-wearing than filler on an edge that takes knocks. Then I profiled it, sanding the rounded edge back to its original shape so it lines up with the rest of the worktop. After that it was the same process as all my repairs: primer, a matched base colour, the stone detail painted in by hand, and a lacquer seal. It took about 2 hours.
The result
The edge is back to its proper shape and the chip has gone into the pattern.
Aftercare is simple: use a chopping board and trivets, clean with soapy water and a soft microfibre cloth, nothing acidic, and never scour the repaired area. Light use after an hour, normal use the next day.

★★★★★
“After damaging my kitchen worktop by dropping something heavy on it I thought I'd have to replace the whole thing, before coming across Prymo. Jasen got the repair booked in really quickly at a convenient time and the results are amazing!! You'd never think there were ever any damage. Would definitely recommend 😊”
