Chipped Quartz Worktop Edge Repaired in Rainford

The damage

Philip had knocked a chip out of the front edge of his white sparkle quartz worktop, right on the corner where it catches the light. He sent me a photo through my website, with a key beside the chip for scale, and I booked him in for the following week.

How I repaired it

Quartz chips need a harder, clearer fix than filler, so I used my UV curing resin system. First I cleaned the chip and removed any loose material, then primed the area. I mixed coloured resins to match the white base and the sparkle detail of the stone, and built the chip back up a small drop at a time, curing each layer with UV light before adding the next. Once it stood proud of the surface, I profiled it back to the shape of the edge and polished it to the same shine as the rest of the worktop. It took about 2 hours.

The result

The edge is back to its original shape and the repair is super strong, durable and invisible. Philip liked it so much he left a review: posted from his girlfriend's account, so it shows on Google under her name.
